Welcome to SENsational Minds

We are an independent Autism and ADHD Assessment Service based in Colchester Essex . We are a multidisciplinary team of professionals, highly experienced in assessment using NICE compliant assessment tools.
We support children, young people and adults.
We are able to see and support children, young people and adults within 6 weeks of a referral being made.
Providing excellent post-diagnostic advice and support for children and young people including specialist teaching, psycho-education sessions and coaching/mentoring.

SENsational Minds is an independent

Autism and ADHD Assessment and post-diagnostic service based in Essex.

We pride ourselves on supporting families, children, young people and adults who are neurodiverse. We have recently launched our new ADHD assessment pathway to compliment our fully established Autism assessment service.

For Autism assessments, we are able to complete assessments for children aged 4 years and above.

For ADHD assessment, we will see a child from the age of 7 years +.

Please note, we are not currently providing a medication pathway.

All assessments require a referral from one of the following practitioners:

Speech and Language therapist
Occupational Therapist
Educational Psychologist
SENCO or specialist teacher/tutor
Mental health nurse specialist
Health visitor
Sleep and continence specialist/consultant

EXPERIENCE

At SENsational Minds, we understand the current challenges faced by children, young people, and adults awaiting neurodevelopmental assessment. Many individuals have endured lengthy waitlists for assessment or have become lost in the system. We are dedicated to providing exceptional neurodevelopmental assessments using the most advanced clinical assessment tools available.

We are a small team of highly trained clinical professionals with extensive knowledge and understanding of Autism and ADHD. Our team includes members from various professions such as clinical psychology, mental health nursing, psychotherapy, speech and language therapy, specialist teaching, and SENCO. With many years of experience in clinical assessment, we have supported numerous children, young people ,and adults on their journeys. Our diverse, multi-disciplinary team allows us to provide personalised advice ,support, and intervention following diagnostic processes.

POST DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT

SENsational Minds strives to work with children, young people and adults to understand their diagnosis. Recommendations and support can be given in the form of post-diagnosis support such as training, 1:1 sessions and even small group session. The importance of post-diagnostic support is to enable people to gain and understanding of themselves and look for strategies to get the most from their school, college or workplace.
